Taiyo completed his best weekend since he came to the World Championship, fighting with more experienced riders to finish P17. For his part, Mario was penalized for his grid position, losing contact with the big group very soon on a circuit where slipstreaming is essential.
MOTO3: MARIO SURYO AJI #64
Grid P25– Race P24
We struggled all weekend, but I was surprised about my pace in the race. But the first group was flying. The team is happy about my pace today. We need to work from Friday on the pace and fixing the grid position. They trust in my capability to fight with them. A tough weekend, and I’m looking forward to the overseas races.
MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid P14– Race P17
This weekend has been my best weekend of the year. From FP2, I stayed in a good position and was in Q2 for a second time. My pace in the race has been so close to my best lap time of the weekend. This time I could fight with some fast riders. But I made the same mistake again on the other races. I miss too much time on the first lap and lose contact with the first group. That is something to improve. Maybe at the next race, my home race in Japan.
HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager
It has been a difficult race for our riders. We expected a weekend like this, but the positive part is that they tried their best to be constant. The pace they did in the race is what we expected; this detail confirms that they pushed their maximum. We go ahead to the next race.
