Honda Team Asia completed the 11th round of the 2026 Moto3 World Championship at the Sachsenring, as the German Grand Prix marked the halfway point of the season. The team arrived in Saxony with a reduced lineup after Zen Mitani underwent surgery following his crash in Assen, forcing him to miss the race weekend.

Friday brought encouraging results, with Veda Ega Pratama topping the Moto3 timesheets. The Indonesian rookie demonstrated impressive progress throughout the day after a challenging start in Free Practice 1, where he finished 23rd. In the afternoon session, Pratama delivered an outstanding performance, setting the fastest lap of the day with a time of 1’25.848 to secure the top position.

Saturday proved to be more challenging. During Free Practice 2, Pratama focused primarily on race pace, ending the session in 20th place. Thanks to his excellent Friday performance, he had already secured direct access to Q2. In qualifying, he claimed 13th on the grid, just 0.693 seconds from the pole position in an exceptionally competitive field.

Race day brought another positive result, with Pratama securing a top-10 finish. Starting from the fifth row, he made a strong launch, but incidents involving other riders during the opening laps disrupted his rhythm and caused him to lose contact with the leading group. From that point onward, Pratama battled in the second group, maintaining a competitive pace throughout the race before crossing the finish line in eighth place. The result earned the Indonesian rider valuable championship points and further highlighted his determination, consistency, and growing maturity in his rookie Moto3 campaign.

With the first half of the season now complete, Honda Team Asia heads into the summer break before returning to action in three weeks’ time at Silverstone for the next round of the Moto3 World Championship.

Overall, I think today was a positive race. Of course, starting from P13 made things more difficult, but I was able to make a good start and gain some positions in the first laps. Unfortunately, after some incidents in front of me, I lost contact with the leading group and from that moment it was difficult to catch them again. At Sachsenring it’s not easy to recover once the gap opens.

I kept pushing until the end and fought as hard as I could with the second group. Finishing eighth isn’t exactly the result we wanted after the speed we showed on Friday, but it’s still important to score points and continue learning. I’m happy with the progress we’re making together with the team. Every weekend I feel more confident on the bike, and I’ll use the summer break to recover, prepare well and come back stronger at Silverstone

Today we had a good race in stable dry conditions after a consistent weekend. Starting from 13th on the grid, Veda made a very good opening lap and immediately gained several positions. Unfortunately, after some contact involving other riders, he lost ground and dropped back, making it very difficult to reconnect with the leading group on such a short and technical circuit.

From that point, he did a great job fighting back to eighth place. It wasn’t an easy race, but he never gave up and continued pushing until the finish. The most important thing is that he gained more experience and completed another competitive race in different conditions. I think he made another important step forward this weekend. Thank you to all our sponsors and everyone in the team for their hard work. Now we’ll recover during the summer break and come back ready for the next race
