An average displacement was missing in the “R-Series” (now that the R6 is sold in race trim). Yamaha has filled the gap with the R7: a convincing “entry level” race replica, derived from the naked MT-07, on which a lot is focused. The entire aftermarket world specializing in racing components gives it credit.

To improve the performance of sporty driving on the road and on the track provided by its 689 cc twin-cylinder, MIVV has done a great job for the R7 2022.

SR-1

Complete exhaust, in compliance with the regulations concerning noise and emissions indicated by the Euro 5 homologation.

Its collectors system is in stainless steel, completed by the SR-1 muffler specifically designed for this configuration, positioned high on the bike and available with a black titanium body or with a natural finish. The SR-1 line is mainly dedicated to superbikes and hyper-nakeds. Its development inherits all the experience acquired by MIVV in the various MotoGP – Moto2 – Moto3 world championships. Finished with great attention to detail, this version of the silencer features a hexagonal-shaped titanium body with a black finish and the presence of a carbon cap with a T-will weave capable of withstanding the high temperature stresses typical of the racing world . Compared to the stock exhaust, the titanium SR-1 guarantees a reduction in weight.

THE ADVANTAGES: +5.90 HP on maximum power, at 9,000 rpm; +3.50 Nm on maximum torque, at 6,500 rpm; -0.50 kg on weight. The graph taken on the bench shows a continuous increase in performance starting from 3,000 rpm. The data indicated are respectable… considering that we are talking about an approved system.

RETAIL PRICES:  € 1,232.00 for the natural muffler and € 1,294.00 for the black version The set-up includes the carbon heat guard. To “confirm” Euro 5 homologation, the MIVV ACC.077.A1 catalyst must also be purchased (213.00 euros).

GP PRO

A second complete Euro5 approved exhaust, the GP PRO features semi hand-crafted TIG welding, a compact and essential design and an aggressive sound. Also in this case, the world of competitions inspired the designer, confirmed by some elements such as the exhaust outlet pipe equipped with a removable protective grille that hides the dB-Killer. The central body is in carbon with a glossy finish.

THE ADVANTAGES: +2.40 HP on maximum power at 8,600 rpm; +0.20 Nm on maximum torque, at 6,400 rpm; -1.60 Kg. of weight reduction. The graph shows a significant increase in torque from 3,500 to 4,500 rpm and again from 5,000 to 6,400 rpm. The power flows side by side up to 7,000 rpm and then detaches upwards.

RETAIL PRICE: € 1,046.00 + VAT (including carbon heat guard). To make it approved on the road, the MIVV catalyst MIVV ACC.077.A1 must be added ( € 213.00)

As anticipated, MIVV offers two further set-ups which provide for the total replacement of the standard exhaust system on the R7, devoted exclusively to the track and consequently not homologated. Without Euro5 limitations, the twin cylinder of this Yamaha can improve its performance in even greater terms.

COMPLETE SYSTEM

This is the denomination of the ready-to-race MIVV version. With pipes made entirely of stainless steel, (STEEL version), it always proposes the high positioning of the silencer, which here is again a SR-1, previously described with a titanium body.

THE ADVANTAGES: +5.20 HP on maximum power, at 9,100 rpm; +5.50 Nm on maximum torque, at 6,300 rpm; -2.30 Kg saved with the COMPLETE SYSTEM. The DynoChart analysis highlights how much this pairing favors the “pull”, which rises steadily up to its maximum peak from below 4,000 rpm.

RETAIL PRICE:  € 1,082.00 (including carbon heat guard).

MK3

A non-homologated version, the mk3 is the perfect solution for those who intend to approach driving on the track with an R7 with a very good setting in terms of torque and power delivery. The stainless steel manifolds are made for the standard (low) positioning, allowed by the compact dimensions of the MK3 muffler. Its design comes from the exhausts made for the MotoGP world championship and it is also recognized for the captivating sound it manages to unleash. The MK3 version used here has a central body in glossy carbon which, together with the protective grille on the outlet end cap, gives the product a particularly high-tech look.

THE ADVANTAGES: +7.00 HP on maximum power at 8,600 rpm; + 5.00 Nm on the maximum torque, at 6,300 rpm; a good -3.80 kg of weight savings. The performance confirmed by the dyno (always measured at the wheel) is really important. The increase in torque and power is continuous from 3,000 rpm.

RETAIL PRICE : The MK3 system costs € 867.00 (including carbon heat guard).
