Everyone agrees in declaring how much fun the two Husqvarna 701s are to ride. They like the chassis, the set-up on the saddle (the Enduro is actually a bit tall), the ease of driving, the engine’s pull, the lightness (146 kg)… Then the technical proposals of the aftermarket market arrive and the desire for customization creeps in, often starting with the exhaust. MIVV arrives at the owners of the tessellated and road bikes with an interesting proposal, which relies on the STR-1 exhaust. It easily replaces the OEM one, takes up less space, is lighter than the latter and offers a gritty sound (listen to it in the comparative video on the MIVV website).

The STR-1 exhaust shows a layout designed to adapt to the spaces available on enduro bikes and guarantees performance over the entire engine delivery range.

There are two versions available: aisi 304 stainless steel and titanium with end cap and support arm in twill 3k carbon… which become three for the 701: exclusively, the silencer is in fact also available in black stainless steel.

The STR-1 is equipped with a special dB-Killer developed to reduce noise without penalizing performance. On a construction level, we should also mention the use of latest-generation sound-absorbing materials (easily replaceable) which make it possible to comply with the increasingly strict noise limits imposed by national and international regulations for off-road competitions.

Again, the STR-1 exhaust does not require remapping: product development was completed without making any changes to the electronics. Just replace the stock exhaust with it and you’re done.

To comply with Euro5 homologation, in addition to the muffler, the MIVV ACC.041.A1 catalyst must be purchased. This component is metallic and designed to get an adequate reduction of polluting gases.

For the 701 we also produce a racing header in stainless steel, intended for those who use the bike on tracks or on closed courses. It is built in 304 stainless steel and offers diameters that guarantee competition performance.

The header adopts the standard position, it can be used both with the MIVV STR-1 silencer and with the original silencer, it is provided with a lambda probe connection for any intervention on the electronics and does not require the use of a catalyst.

This type of set-up respects the rules related to off-road competitions but does not allow the use of the motorcycle on the road as it is not Euro5 complaint.

 

THE ADVANTAGES OF THIS EXHAUST

(The values are measured at the wheel with roller bench)

+ 4.30 HP max at 8,000 rpm and + 4.20 Nm max at 6,700 rpm.

The increase is well established along the entire engine delivery range, rising decisively from low revs and remaining constant up to 9,000 rpm, as shown in the DYNOCHART graph (available on the MIVV website on the page dedicated to the set-up we are talking about).

Another advantage concerns the weight reduction, indicated in – 2,20 Kg.
