Eleventh round of the MotoGP calendar this weekend at Montmelo circuit which officially opens the second half of the season. For the third time this year, the Honda Team Asia lines up 3 riders in Moto3 with the Thailand rider Buasri joining once again Furusato and Aji.
The three riders well know the Catalan track and they start the weekend positively. In the qualifying, Taiyo gets the fifth row in Q2, while Mario and Tatchakorn are affected by traffic which forces both of them to start from the back of the grid.
Positive race for the three riders: Furusato scores 2 points crossing the finishing line 14th. Aji and Buasri close respectively in 19th and 20th position showing improvements. Next weekend in Italy, at Misano circuit, for the last European appointment before the overseas events.

I’ve done a positive race, doing a constant progression almost from the last position after some problems at the start. I’ve been fighting in the second group to score points. That is what I expected because this is one of my favourite tracks. The team is happy with the pace I showed in the race. Also, I’m pleased about the guys‘ work this weekend. Of course, I could be most content scoring points, but I’m satisfied with my race, finishing at 7 seconds to the winner. That gives me motivation for the next races

The weekend was going very well, both Friday and Saturday. Therefore, I expected more in the race. I was in the top group for many laps but finally lost contact. I scored points, which makes me happy, but this is not the expected result. We will try it again next weekend in Misano.

I’m delighted about my race here in Catalunya. I felt confident with the bike. I’ve been fighting with very experienced riders, and during the race, I’ve done my best lap time of the weekend. I was in the second group; I learned a lot there, mainly some things I need to improve my riding. That is another positive experience for me..

The Moto3 race wasn’t easy because of the wind. The top group was huge, with Taiyo and Mario inside in some moments. They dropped positions to finish in the second group, fighting for points. Tatchakorn did another step ahead from the last races. Overall, the weekend has been positive, and we hope to repeat it next week in Misano.
