On the demanding American track, the Honda Team Asia Moto3, got today its first points in the world standings with Mario Aji. The Indonesian rider crossed the finishing line 12th after an intense battle at the Circuit of the Americas. The Japanese Taiyo Furusato made a mistake in the first lap that made him lose contact with the group ahead and the opportunities to score points. His final position was twentieth. Next stop in 2 weeks at Jerez de la Frontera.

MOTO3: MARIO SURYO AJI #64
Grid P25– Race P12

One of the best races of my career. We were waiting until the race, not thinking about the result, just concentrating on staying in the group, fighting to be there until the end. This result gives me incredible motivation. I’m happy but never satisfied enough; I keep hunting for more points this year. There are still 18 options to get points. I want to thank all the people around me who are supporting me. My team, my family. A good weekend has finished; it’s time to enjoy, but soon to think in Jerez.

MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid P19– Race P20

I’m disappointed because I was waiting for a better result. Although this, the global balance is positive because we changed how to manage the weekend, and I felt much better. Everything was going well until Saturday, but today in the race, I made a mistake in Turn 1, losing positions and the option to follow the big group. I tried to catch them, but it was impossible. I’m not satisfied with the race, but I got more experience, which is vital in thinking about the next races..

HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager

The race was only 14 laps, but we felt it was long! The battle was hard, and Mario managed to finish 12th starting from 25th! We’re happy and proud of him. Taiyo tried to do his best, but his lap time was inconstant. For us, it’s essential that he finished the race, getting more experience. He knows what’s the next step. Today Mario did a good job, and I want to thank his staff, they worked hard.
