The main 2024 novelty of the German brand already brings with it important aftermarket fittings. As for the alternatives to the standard exhaust system, the work developed by MIVV is well presented.
Compliance with the homologation of the new maxienduro is obviously guaranteed.
The solution from the well-known Italian manufacturer is called SR-1: a super tested muffler capable of earning the trust of users.
The coupling with the 1300 GS is in line with the aesthetics of the bike and the choice to propose the SR-1 in Slip-On configuration (therefore replaceable to the standard silencer in an easy and fast way) appears to be a winner. The positioning follows the standard one to offer full compatibility with the installation of side cases.
The silencer is made of titanium and for this BMW (in all its versions) it is available with a black or natural finish.
As mentioned, MIVV confirms its conformity with the motorcycle approval, in terms of noise and polluting gas emissions. Below are two technical notes.
SR-1
Designed to improve the aesthetics, sound and performance of the bike, the SR -1 line has also shown unexpected qualities on other types of bikes, such as Adventure and Maxienduro.
Structurally, the SR-1 features a hexagonal titanium body, available with a special black or natural paint finish.
The end cap is made of carbon with T-will texture capable of withstanding high temperature stress. In general there is great attention to detail.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THIS EXHAUST
The values found by MIVV are measured at the wheel on a roller bench.
+ 1.20 HP on maximum power, reached at 7,300 rpm.
+ 0.90 Nm on maximum torque, reached at 5,900 rpm.
– 0.25 kg on weight
By analyzing the entire range of engine output (the graph is available on the MIVV website) you can see how the power and torque curves run parallel. The BMW exhaust keeps the “leadership” up to 3,500 rpm and then “hands over” to the SR-1 which remains constantly above, if only slightly. The weight of the two mufflers is equivalent… but MIVV reiterates that the goodness of its proposal must be seen as a whole, starting from the materials used, in order to enhance the design, construction quality and sound.
