Twelfth round of the season this weekend at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli and the last European race before the overseas events.
Taiyo Furusato gets an excellent 11th position in the race after starting 14th on the grid. For the whole weekend the Japanese rider shows a good pace and a great feeling with his bike.
On the other hand, Mario Aji fights hard in the race to get a good result, but his starting position and the lack of feeling with the bike make him finish far behind.
Now it’s time to close the cases and fly overseas: first stop India, in 2 weeks. Riders will ride on the Buddh International Circuit for the first time and it will be an interesting test bench.
MIVV and the Honda Team Asia will do their best to improve performances of both riders in the next demanding races.
MOTO3: MARIO SURYO AJI #64
Grid P26– Race P26
That weekend has been one of the toughest of my career. I’ve struggled from the first practice. The feeling during the race was the best of the weekend. I did my best, but it wasn’t enough to catch the front group. Starting from behind doesn’t help, for sure. We move now to India, a track we have never been before. It could be a good opportunity for me.
MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid P14– Race P11
I’m happy for the weekend. I started well on Friday, being P4 in one practice. In Q2, I made a mistake and couldn’t begin as in front as needed. That position penalized me during the race. I also made a mistake initially, but I caught the group, overtaking many riders to finish 11th. Overall, the weekend is good; we need to improve some points, but we will try again in India.
HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager
It has been a long race! After 20 laps, Furusato managed to finish 11th and Mario 26th. That is a contrasted result. In the beginning, both had a big battle to find their place. Taiyo was in the group fighting for points, scoring five deserved points. About Mario, we tried to give him a good setup, but finally, he struggled and finished P26. Both did their best, and I appreciate it. Let’s go to India, a new track for everybody, a fact that could be positive for us.
