Honda Team Asia Moto3 riders, Taiyo Furusato and Tatchakorn Buasri, faced the fifth race of the season at Le Mans, France.

Both riders began the day under favorable weather conditions. Taiyo showed improvement throughout the day while Tatchakorn, at his debut on the French circuit, used the first day to learn the track, progressively seeking to optimize his performance.

On the second day, the Japanese Furusato had a good start, getting the Q2. However, he struggled to find place during the qualifying session, affecting his performance and finishing 18th. The Thai Buasri got the 26th position on the grid.

In the race, Taiyo had a good start, moving up from 18th to 11th place initially. However, a penalty caused him to lose some positions, but he managed to move up to finish 14th showing his determination. Buasri, after starting from the back of the grid, managed to gain places during the race, ending up in 20th position for his first time at Le Mans and gaining experience useful for the next races.

Next stop Barcelona, in two weeks!

MOTO3: TAIYO FURUSATO #72
Grid P18– Race 14

Today’s race was tough. We started well and moved up to 11th place, but I almost crashed with another rider, so I cut the corner. Even though I gave back the position, I got a long lap penalty, and I had to serve it. Then, I made another mistake, so I had to serve the long lap penalty again.
Anyway, I had a good speed until the end, which helped me finish in the points zone. There are some good things to take from this race, but we need to avoid these mistakes. I want to thank the whole team for their hard work, and I’ll do my best in the next race.

MOTO3: TATCHAKORN BUASRI #5
Grid P26 – Race 20

This race was a bit challenging for me since it was my first-time riding on this track at Le Mans. Completing the race here was a new experience for me. We still have a lot of work to do and need to focus on minimizing small mistakes to achieve better results in the next race.
The positive aspect is that the next Grand Prix will be held in Barcelona, a track that I am familiar with and enjoy. I hope to perform much better there and achieve a good result. I am fully committed to giving my best in the upcoming GP.

HIROSHI AOYAMA – Team Manager

Today’s race in Le Mans was quite exciting. Furusato had a good start, moving from 18th to 11th place at one point and joining the leading group. However, he had an action with another rider that forced him to take a shortcut to avoid a crash. This resulted in a penalty and a loss of time. Despite this setback, Furusato showed mental strength and managed to finish 14th. It’s disappointing knowing he could have done better, but sometimes incidents like these can change the course of a race.
Meanwhile, his teammate Buasri had a solid race. He maintained his pace until the end, although there are areas where he can improve. Still, considering it was his first time on this track, he did his best. I want to thank our team and riders for their hard work throughout the weekend. We’ll work on improving for the next race in Barcelona.
